Cookies
A short account of what this browser is asked to remember.
A cookie is a small file a website can ask your browser to store, so a later visit can recognise a choice made earlier. This site also uses local storage, which stays on your device and is not sent to us with each page. The notice at the bottom of the page offers Accept and Reject. Rejecting does not lock any page. Readings, fees, field notes, and the enquiry form all open either way.
Types we use
Essential. The pages do not need a cookie to be read. The enquiry form does not set a login session. There is no account.
Analytics. We do not set an analytics cookie, and we do not load a visit counter. If that ever changes, this table will name the cookie before it is used.
Your choice. Accept or Reject is stored locally so the notice does not return on every page. That record is not sold and is not an advertising profile.
What is stored
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| mentisanchor_cookie_consent | Remembers Accept or Reject. This is a localStorage entry, not an HTTP cookie. | Until you clear site data for mentisanchor.click | Mentis Anchor Analytics, first party |
| Analytics cookies | None are set. | — | — |
Third parties
We do not embed advertising, video players, or social buttons. Fonts are requested from Google Fonts (Google Ireland or its affiliates). That request can reveal your IP address to Google so the type files can be sent. We do not ask Google to set a cookie on our behalf. Blocking the font request will not hide the words; the browser will use another serif.
The enquiry form sends the fields you type to this site’s own address so the success message can be shown. It does not add a tracking cookie. How long we keep the message is described on the privacy page.
How to refuse or delete
Choose Reject on the notice. If you have already chosen, clear site data for this host in your browser settings, and the notice will return. Browser makers document this under “cookies” and “site data” in their help pages. You can also block third-party requests, including fonts, in the browser. Blocking local storage means we cannot remember Reject, so the notice may appear again; the pages themselves still open.
Effect of switching storage off
You can read every page, including fees and the chart room. The form can still be sent if scripts run. If scripts are blocked, use the telephone or email on the contact page. Nothing in a chart book depends on a cookie.
